Get Started With Your Ledger Device

Setting up your Ledger device is the first step toward taking full control of your digital assets. This guided setup process will help you initialize your device, install apps, and secure your recovery phrase—so you can manage your crypto with confidence.
1. Unbox Your Ledger Device
Before starting, make sure your box contains:
Ledger hardware wallet
USB cable
Recovery sheets
Instruction card
If anything is missing or looks tampered with, stop and contact support.
2. Download Ledger Live
Ledger Live is the official app for managing your device and crypto.
Download Ledger Live for Windows, macOS, or Linux.
Install and launch the app.
Select “Get Started” and choose your device model.
3. Set Up Your Device
Follow the on-screen instructions in Ledger Live to:
Power on the device
Create a new wallet or restore an existing one
Set up your PIN code
Securely write down your 24-word recovery phrase
Important:
Your recovery phrase must stay offline, private, and never shared with anyone.
4. Install Crypto Apps
Using Ledger Live, navigate to the My Ledger section to install the blockchain apps you need (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.).
Your device stores the private keys, while Ledger Live lets you manage accounts and balances.
5. Add Your Accounts
Inside Ledger Live:
Select Accounts
Click Add Account
Choose the crypto asset
Follow the device prompts to confirm
You can now send, receive, and manage your assets securely.
6. Stay Secure
Never share your recovery phrase
Always verify addresses on your Ledger device screen
Update Ledger Live and device firmware regularly
Only download Ledger software from official sources
